Gift 1847 med Marit Olsdatter Lognset. Husmann og tømmermann, bosatt med familien på Lognset 1847–1881. Emigrerte 1881; familien bosatte seg ifølge boka ved Avoca i Wisconsin og tok Røberg som familienavn. Boka gjengir at Mikkel skal ha fortalt om tjeneste i Danmark i 1848 under den slesvig-holstenske krig; dette er en gjengitt beretning, ikke selvstendig bekreftet militærtjeneste. Med Marit hadde han barna Ole (1847), Olava Matea (1848), Anne Marie (1855), Oline Mathilde og Lisa Gunhild (1862) og Laurits (1865). Han hadde dessuten datteren Marie (1853) med Helene Evensdatter Skjakeie. Marie er omtalt i legd på Granngard i 1865, som tjenestepike på Furuset i 1875 og gift i 1900 med enkemannen Andreas Gulbransen Brudalen, tidligere farmer i Amerika. Bosted på Lognset er ikke dokumentert for denne Marie.
